K-Tek makes several different types of boom poles. The Klassic, the Avalon Graphite, and the Avalon Aluminum. The type of pole you get will be determined by your specific needs and budget. For a quick summary of our different types of boom poles, click here.

K-Tek’s original boom poles, The Klassic Poles, are made from high quality graphite tubes and are available without a cable, and internal coiled cable, or an internal straight cable. For internal coiled cabled poles, there is the option for a bottom XLR connector (CC) or bottom side XLR connector (CCR). The internally straight cabled poles come with a “flow through base” (FT) that allow the straight cable to be fed through the bottom. All of these bases are easily removable if the user decides to switch from one type of base to another. The modularity of the Klassic poles is what sets them apart from any other pole on the market. To go even further, the Klassic Stage Poles have a a removable top that allow the user to easily change cables quickly without the need to solder any connectors. The Klassic Articulated Pole allows the user to actually bend the pole for easy one handed operation, or easy booming of lower angles. The Klassic Poles are K-Tek’s top of the line boom poles, and are an essential part of any professional’s kit.

K-Tek’s Avalon Graphite poles are a lower cost solution to the Klassic poles. They use the same graphite as the Klassic poles, but are not as modular in terms of the bases or the removable top that is on the Klassic Stage pole. The Avalon Graphite poles are available uncabled or internally coiled cabled. The main difference between the Avalon Graphite poles and the Klassic poles is the bases are not interchangeable like they are on the Klassic poles. The Avalon Graphite poles are ideal for someone who wants the light weight of a graphite pole, but may not have the budget for a Klassic pole.

K-Tek’s Avalon Aluminum poles are made from high quality anodized aluminum. They are available uncabled, or internally coiled cabled. Like the Avalon Graphite poles, the Avalon Aluminum poles are not modular like the Klassic poles, the are lower in cost. These poles are ideal for those on a budget, such as students, people new to production audio, or if you need an inexpensive pole to put in harm’s way.
